Asus X51RL is first of all a well-made product for the economical entrepreneur or student. It may work well as a second ‘carry-on’ machine. However one shouldn’t expect long battery life or gaming capabilities. Of course you may entertain with this device but forget about modern games and make sure to stay close to a power socket. There are a lot of positive features such as four USB ports, PC card slot, card reader, conveniently located connectors and ventilation grill. These include such trivia as undetachable touchpad, glossy screen, poor bundle, heavy weight and lack of such options as Bluetooth and IR port. Much more perceptible drawbacks are short battery life, and week speakers.
The peculiarities are drivers for Windows Vista only, so if you plan to install Windows XP be ready to download sound card drivers (together with KB888111 patch), built-in LAN adapter, chipset/video card (100Mb) and Wi-Fi.
